Why do I need a saddle fitter?
A professional fitter is used to ensure the saddle fits both horse and rider correctly, preventing discomfort, pressure points, and long-term injury. A professional fitter checks balance, width, and flocking, adjusting as the horse’s body changes with age or training. Proper fit improves performance, encourages relaxation, and supports a safer, more enjoyable riding experience for both partners.
Can I get my current saddle checked/ altered?
Absolutely! A full saddle check of your current saddle can be added onto an Osteopathy session, or can be booked as a stand alone session. The session will include a saddle safety check, a static assessment, and if deemed suitable a ridden assessment. Then if required and possible alterations can be made to the fit via gullet plate changes and flocking adjustments as well as utilising risers and shim systems where appropriate. Some saddles require returning to the original manufacturer for alterations in the width.
Can you help me find a second hand saddle?
Yes, I provide a Find & Fit service. You will fill in a detailed form so I know exactly what you are looking for, as well as sending me photos of your horse. Then I will source good quality second hand, sometimes ex-demo saddles for you to try and where possible give you a 5 day trial with the saddle so you are sure its the right fit for you and your horse.
Do work for a specific saddle brand?
No, I do not work with a single brand, I want to ensure clients have the right saddle for their horse, and no one brand fills this need. I will be working directly with a select few saddle brands that I am confident provide a horse first ethos to saddle making. There is not a single brand that suits all horses, so the goal is to provide a carefully curated selection of new saddles so that your horses unique shape can be accommodated, as well as your riding style and goals met.

Saddle Fitting (Own Saddle)

£65 for clients seen within 3 months for Osteo
Including full horse assessment for comfort, posture, conformation and movement
Full saddle assessment for safety, symmetry and suitability.
If appropriate a comprehensive ridden assessment.
Time allowed for adjustments to flock, bars and padding options.
Please allow up to 1.5 hours
Bar and flock adjustments will be charged as per price list available at the session.
Additional saddles can be included for static check in the session allocation at no extra cost, but if a ridden assessment + adjustments are required this will be booked at a later date or time added to the session at £15 per part 15mins.
Find & Fit
£75
Suitable for sourcing second hand/ ex-demo saddles, or trying new saddles, or a combination.
To include a consultation to find out your requirements, review of form and photographs.
To include sourcing of suitable saddles and a Saddle Fitting session.
This service enables us to work closely together to find the perfect solution for your horse and your wallet, it allows the freedom to try a range of saddles including second hand and ex-demo saddles which can help you save money.

There may be additional postage fees associated with accessing the saddles needed for your horse, this will always be discussed before ordering.
